There are two ways that your instructor can post your grades. They may use the VIULearn Grades tool, which is a dedicated place that accumulates all your grades across multiple activities in your course. Or, they may post your grades in the tool that is being used for the assessment (Quiz, Assignment, or Discussions). Other instructors may not post your grades in VIULearn at all.
If you are unsure where your grades will be posted, please check with your instructor.
View your Grades in the Grades Tool
Select Assessment from the course navigation bar. From the drop-down menu, select Grades.
You can see your individual grades and any comments your instructor has left. Depending on your instructor, you may be able to see the class averages and other grade statistics as well. You can also view your final grade and the grade formula used to evaluate you if your instructor releases it.
Depending on the settings your instructor has in place, you may see 0's or "dropped" next to the different assignments and activities in your course that have not yet been completed or have not yet been assessed. These will update your correct grade once your instructor has assessed the assignment/activity. If you have any questions regarding your marks in your gradebook, please contact your instructor directly for clarification.
View Feedback
Not all instructors will give you access to review your quiz and assignment scores in VIULearn. The amount of feedback that you will be able to review will depend on what your instructor has inserted and what settings they have enabled in the assignment or quiz.
If you are not seeing information you are expecting to see when you go to review your quiz or assignment feedback, always check with your instructor first to see if they intend for you to see this information in VIULearn.
View Assignment Feedback
- Select Assessment and then Assignments from the course navigation bar.
- In the Evaluation Status column, you will see Feedback: Unread or Feedback: Read text next to any Assignment that has been assessed by your instructor.
- Click the Unread text to view any new feedback your instructor has left you on your assignment.
Review Quiz Results
Not all instructors will give you access to review your quiz or view your grades. Always check with your instructor if you are unsure if you will be able to review your quiz.
- Select Assessment from the course navigation bar. From the dropdown menu, select Quizzes.
- If your instructor has allowed you to review your quiz results, you will see Feedback: On Attempt text in the Evaluation Status column. Click on the On Attempt text to review your results.
- Click on the attempt you wish to review.
- Depending on what settings your instructor has placed, you may be able to review some or all of the quiz questions on this page. You may also see the score your received on the quiz in the bottom right hand corner of the page.
Class Progress
You can use Class Progress tool to keep track of all of your course-specific assignments, feedback, and progression through course materials. You can view your progress on the following progress indicators:
- Grades
- Objectives
- Content
- Discussions
- Assignments
- Quizzes
- Checklist
- Surveys
- Login History
View Your Class Progress
- In the course homepage, click Assessment in the course navigation bar. Select Class Progress from the drop-down menu.
- If you would like to see more information regarding any of the progress indicators, click on the indicator you would like to view in more detail. Then, click the sideways arrow underneath any items or activities you would like to view in more detail.
